As I mentioned before, there are different types of styles when it comes to Harajuku Fashion, but it all depends you what you think suits you most, then you can carry on with exploring the website. To get you more into the Harajuku scene; here are a few types. Decide what suits you most.
Decora
Decora requires bright colors. You decorate yourself with plastic toys and jewelry, and there's never such thing as having too many accessories.
Lolita
Lolita has different themes such as Sweet or Goth, but is based off of Victorian style. Imagine it as dressing as a little porcelain doll.
Cosplay
Cosplay is when you dress up as your favorite character, from a book, movie, t.v., or video game. Mostly famous, when you dress as an anime or manga character.
Gyaru
Gyaru subculture is still a large influence in Japan's fashion economy with Gal brands branching out and becoming more accessible in rural areas. In Tokyo, more often than not, a shopping center at each main train station dedicated to offering the newest and trendiest items from popular Gal brands. There are varies types of gyaru. The other gyaru types included are the Hime Gyaru and Gyaruo.
Visual Kei
Visual Kei is a movement among Japanese musicians, that is characterized by the use of make-up, elaborate hair styles and flamboyant costumes. Visual Kei refers to a music genre, or to a sub-genre of J-rock (a term referring to Japanese rock in general), with its own particular sound, related to glam rock, punk and metal.
Fairy Kei
Fairy kei style is a mixture between kawaii style and 80's pop.
